Grow the beautiful and unusual Shampoo Ginger with fresh Zingiber zerumbet rhizomes. Also known as Pinecone Ginger, this tropical perennial is admired for its lush foliage and distinctive cone-shaped flower heads that gradually turn red.
The mature flower cones contain a clear, pleasantly scented liquid traditionally used as a natural hair rinse, which gives the plant its popular name, Shampoo Ginger. It is an attractive choice for tropical gardens, shaded borders, containers and greenhouse cultivation.
